culture overview
Location has been key for St. Louis in the foundation of its culture. Its proximity to two mighty rivers has allowed it to be a meeting place ever since its establishment. The settlers were men of refinement and education, transforming St. Louis into a center of culture. Early on, commerce thrived in the city and became a unique component of the early days [1]. Old sternwheel boats could be seen on the river and only illustrate a small part of St. Louis's rich cultural history.
